El show de las 12 is a Puerto Rican midday variety television series airing on WKAQ-TV, and later on the nationwide Telemundo network, and hosted by Eddie Miro for most of its run. It aired every week-day for 40 years until its cancellation on February 25, 2005.

The plot revolves around Cristina Bazán, a young woman who grew up in a boarding school with her sister Âmbar, an evil and envious woman. Cristina believes that her mother is a successful and busy woman, however, she does not know that in the past, her mother was forced to abandon her after going to prison. Âmbar is Rodolfo's fiancée, however, she cheats on him with her best friend Miguel Ângelo, a doctor in medicine. Submissive to her sister and stepmother, Cristina is silently in love with Rodolfo, who little by little begins to see the young woman with the same eyes, while she is always mistreated by her sister and stepmother Rosaura.

The telenovela tells the dramatic story of Dom Pedro, a powerful and authoritarian man who opposes the presence of a Gypsy circus on his lands. In a tragic incident, he kills a member of the troupe, leaving behind an inconsolable widow, Salomé. Determined to avenge her husband's death, Salomé swaps her newborn daughter for Dom Pedro's newborn son, forging a bond rooted in secrecy and intrigue.

Dueña y Señora is a Puerto Rican telenovela based on La Dueña. It is produced by Telemundo Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico Vibra Inc., which intends to market it to the United States' Spanish-speaking residents as well.
